Welcome to the Arnhem Nijmegen region

The Arnhem-Nijmegen region is a popular spot for cyclists. With woods, heathlands, rivers, dikes, orchards and sand dunes, this varied landscape is waiting for you to jump on your stallion of steel and explore.

An active day out in this neck of the woods will bring you face to face with wild boars and red deer. As you leave the hilly heathlands you will soon find yourself overlooking the breathtaking washlands and idyllic fens and before you know it, you will be cycling in the region’s more urban yet still very attractive countryside.

A cycle tour in this region will take you past many of the local Points of Interest (POI’ s). These are attractive churches, exciting ruins, visitors’ centres and nature reserves, parks, historic towns and interesting museums. What more reason could you need to jump back off and take the time to enjoy the region’s exquisite treasures: paddle on a hot summer’s day along the banks of the Rhine or Waal; picnic on a grassy knoll where all you can hear is the sound waterfalls; cycle to one of the many bike-friendly cafés en route for something to eat and drink. It is all about your inner wellbeing.

Why not spoil yourself after a hard day of cycling in one of the region’s luxury hotels? The region has a wide selection of hotels, bed & breakfasts and campsites should you wish to stay for longer. An interesting alternative might be spending the night in one of the region’s castles and historic manor houses: the options are endless.
